An Introduction

It's nice to make your acquaintance.
I invited you here so that I could first of all give you a great bigThank You for visiting my "home on the web".  I am happily married with four children, three grown and gone and one that we are still molding to resemble a human being.  I love to work in my gardens and then when not working them I'm sitting in the swing looking at them.

Secondly, when visiting my Garden site you will find religious content. This is in no way intended to offend those of other beliefs or religions. I just Love everybody. Remember that I grew up in the Bible Belt of the South, where it is very common for those who profess not to believe in God to use His name several times in a day.  I, on the other hand, am a Born again, Bible Believin', Faith Walkin', Tongue Talkin', Spirit Filled Child of the Living God. I believe that Jesus was the Son of God and was raised from the dead and now sits at the right hand of God. These pages contain the things I am interested in, they are a part of who I am, what I believe in and enjoy. Every time I look outside my window and see my garden growing I have to believe there is a God that created this earth and everything on it.

The entire concept of Websites is to share information about common interests whether business or personal.
I believe The Internet will be the means for fulfilling the commandment given by Jesus in Mark 16:15 "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."  Ok, now that you all know where my head is at I would like to share a revelation that I had concerning gardening and why we love it. This is a sort of "What I did on my summer vacation" thingy.  So let me know if this seems possible to any of you!

Why I Believe We Love Gardening!!
One day I found that I needed to stop and smell the roses.  I felt I had no one even though surrounded by family, then I realized I did have someone. You got it, I found God!!  Every struggle in my life had a solution in my owner's manual. I just had to read the instructions to make it clear. This is about something I perceived when I started reading God's word, the Bible. Of course, as with any book I started on page one. As I read, I realized that God was the ultimate Gardner. Not only did He create the seeds we sow, He was the original seed trader! (Genesis 1:12 and 2:8-9)

When I am out in the garden struggling with hoes, shovels or chopping tree roots, I sometimes ask myself why am I doing this? But then when I am inside I can't wait to get back out there and give it everything I've got. I found the answer in my owner's manual. In Genesis 3:23 "Therefore, the Lord God sent him (Adam) out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken." Everyone I know talks or jokes about Adam and Eve getting kicked out of the Garden. Everything in that garden grew by the Grace of God, Adam didn't have to lift a finger. Only when he was banished did God tell him now you will do it yourself. I do not believe that to be so much a curse, but a commandment so that they could survive and not starve.

I realized it is something special that is instilled in us deep deep down in our hearts. To give us the strength to hold that tiller back for one more row, or just get one more bulb or plant in the ground, day or night.  (been there, done that) Even though I can run to the store and get what I want. There is still that something deep down that makes me want to get down on my knees and... get my hands in the dirt. There is a Joy to be found in gardening when a challenge has been overcome. In our minds eye we already see the fruits of our labor and this gives our bodies the physical strength to push forward, to press toward the mark and to complete the task.

And this is Why I Believe We Love Gardening!
